Privacy & Cookies

How this website handles personal information and cookies.

Website privacy

This notice covers the Find Your Way website and initial enquiries made through the contact options shown on the site. If you become a counselling client, further information about how counselling records and confidential information are handled will be provided as part of the counselling arrangements.

Information you choose to provide

If you contact me by email, telephone, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram or another service linked from this website, I may receive information such as your name, contact details and the contents of your message.

Please avoid sending detailed medical or highly sensitive information in an initial message unless it is necessary. If you do choose to provide sensitive information, it will be treated with additional care and only used where there is an appropriate lawful basis and, where required, an applicable condition for processing special-category data.

How your information is used

Information provided in an enquiry is used to respond to you, discuss whether counselling may be suitable, arrange an initial consultation or appointment, and manage necessary correspondence. The lawful basis will normally be taking steps at your request before entering into a counselling arrangement and, where appropriate, legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and administering the practice.

Your information is not sold to advertisers and is not used for unrelated marketing without an appropriate legal basis.

Sharing and external services

I do not routinely share enquiry information with third parties. However, the communication service you choose to use—such as your email provider, WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram—may process information under its own privacy terms. Information may also need to be disclosed where required by law or where there is a serious safeguarding or safety concern.

How long information is kept

Enquiry information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was provided, including responding to the enquiry and dealing with any appropriate follow-up. If counselling begins, relevant information may then form part of the client record and will be handled under the client privacy and confidentiality arrangements.

Cookies

This website does not currently use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, behavioural tracking cookies or browser local/session storage for tracking visitors.

The website is hosted by Netlify. Essential technical processes may be used by the hosting infrastructure to deliver and secure the website. Links to external services such as WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram take you to third-party services that operate under their own privacy and cookie policies.

If analytics, advertising technology, embedded third-party content or other non-essential tracking is added in the future, this notice will be updated and, where required, visitors will be given an appropriate choice before those technologies are used.

Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights over your personal information, including rights to access, correct or erase information, restrict or object to certain processing, and complain about how your information is handled.
