Online Addiction Counselling and Recovery Support

Compassionate, honest and non-judgemental counselling for addiction, recovery and the experiences beneath addictive patterns.

Addiction support without judgement

Addiction can affect far more than a particular substance or behaviour. It can influence relationships, confidence, work, physical and emotional well-being, and the way a person sees themselves. Shame and secrecy can make it harder to ask for help, even when part of you knows that something needs to change.

My aim is to offer a respectful space where you can speak honestly without being reduced to a label. We can explore the addictive pattern itself, what keeps it going, what it may be helping you avoid or manage, and what recovery could realistically mean for you.

What we may explore together

  • Substance use and behavioural addictions
  • Triggers, urges and repeated patterns
  • Ambivalence about change
  • Recovery, relapse concerns and rebuilding confidence
  • Shame, guilt, secrecy and isolation
  • Relationships affected by addiction
  • Anxiety, depression, trauma or difficult family dynamics connected with the addiction
  • Identity, meaning and life beyond the addictive pattern

The person behind the addiction

My work is informed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Addiction Psychology & Counselling from London South Bank University, professional experience in specialist and community settings, and personal understanding of addiction and recovery.

I believe addiction counselling should consider the whole person. Alongside the immediate behaviour, we may explore emotional needs, past experiences, relationships, self-esteem and the circumstances in which the addiction developed.

What counselling is—and is not

Online addiction counselling can provide ongoing psychological and emotional support. It is not an emergency service, medical assessment or detoxification programme. During the initial consultation, we can discuss your circumstances and whether online counselling is appropriate. Where a different or additional service would better meet your needs, I will say so openly.

Starting where you are

You do not need to have everything worked out before making contact. You may feel ready for change, unsure about change, or simply concerned about the direction things are taking. The free 30-minute consultation gives us a chance to talk about where you are now and what kind of support may be useful.

If You Need Urgent Help

If you are in immediate danger, or believe you may harm yourself or someone else, please contact your local emergency services or crisis support service immediately. This website and email contact are not suitable for emergency support.
